workgroup: 'illusion and is-ness'

since 2018 Miriam Loellmann develops and enfolds this workgroup. in the beginning the focus was on illusionary perception, that exist entirely within the viewer's mind. the work changed more and more to compositions and abstract pictures, which express the play of form and the formless that shines through - presence. although the form asks for the viewer's attention, the challenge lies in observing the picture without interpretation, beyond thinking, to come in contact with something within that cannot be grasped, formulated or described.

This workgroup has not yet been exhibited.

"Stillness is the only thing in this world that has no form. But then, it is not really a thing, and it is not of this world."

- Eckhart Tolle, Stillness speaks

Miriam Loellmann was born in 1985 in Germany and dedicates her lifetime to the making of art. After graduating from art school in Berlin in 2013, she moved to Brazil the same year and built up her studio and archive in Rio de Janeiro, very close to the famous Avenida Atlântica in Copacabana.

In her oeuvre she embodies modern geometric abstract art with craftsmanship techniques, expressing simplicity, beauty and elegance. Miriam describes her work as a ‚quiet space of intense presence and liveliness‘.
